HERSEY — Billy Jake Gladish, 80, of Hersey, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at his residence.

He was born on June 3, 1934, in Princeton, Ind., to Jacob Gladish and Clyde Ella Hoover. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served Clinton Township as a firefighter until his retirement in 1989. In 1989, he relocated to Hersey to enjoy retirement where he became the chief of the Hersey Fire Department for several more years.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Gladish; daughters, Cindy (Jim) Ward, Sheila Brown and fiancé Bill Bartell, Linda (Scott) Lindsley, and Theresa (Dan) Weese; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

A memorial luncheon will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at the Reed City VFW Post No. 2964, located at 129 E. Osceola Ave., in Reed City.
