EVART — Beverly Ann Smeaton, 79, of Evart, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.

Mrs. Smeaton was born on Jan. 7, 1938, in Chicago, to George and Caroline (Wyman) Jolly. Beverly married Willis David Smeaton on Aug. 3, 1987, in Kenton County, Ky. She retired from GM and moved to the Baldwin area and later to Evart. Mrs. Smeaton was a member of the First Baptist Church in Evart. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, the outdoors and going to yard sales.

Beverly is survived by her two sons, Claude Evans, of Batavia, Ohio, and Chester Evans, of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; two daughters, Darlene (Jeffery) Stevens, of New Port Richie, Fla., and Linda (Johnny) Porter of Ypsilanti; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Dixon, of Chicago; two sisters, Sandy Points, of Langer, Ky., and Diana Cruz, of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years; her parents; and one brother.

Funeral services for Beverly Ann Smeaton will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Evart, with Pastor Ryan Beilfuss officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Mrs. Smeaton will be interred next to her husband in Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
