Arlene Delores Custer

EVART — Arlene Delores Custer, 86, of Evart, died at Reed City Hospital Long Term Care on Friday, April 8, 2016.

She was born on July 22, 1929, in Lakeview, to Carmen and Lillian (Johnson) Griffis.

She lived her adult life in Evart, working on the family farm and working at Reed City Hospital in housekeeping. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Her many friends at work, Centennial Arms (Scott), and Moorecare share many stories of her fun personality. She loved spending time with her children and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her seven children, Jim Custer, Nancy (Dave) Taylor, Roger (Pam) Custer, Terry (Linda) Custer, LaDonna (Stan) McLachlan, Ralph (Deb) Custer and Forest Jr. (Denise) Custer, all of Evart. She has 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She also was survived by two brothers, George (Alma) Griffis, of Chippewa Lake, and Chester Griffis, of Grand Rapids.

A special thanks to Mary, Penny and Darlene for their compassionate care mom received during the past three months. Also, to Dr. Juneja, Catherine, Sara, Jessica and Laura for your caring support and respecting mom’s wishes during the past few months.

Funeral services for Arlene Delores Custer will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Evart Free Methodist Church, with Pastor Mark Bullock officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Corey Funeral home in Evart. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
