As college students with West Central Michigan ties take a break from their studies during Spring Break, recognition for their hard work has been pouring in. Here are some of those students who have earned spots on the President's and Dean's lists at their respective institutions for the fall 2021 semester.

Carthage College, Dean's List: Students who achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.

  • Terry McMillan, of LeRoy 

Miami University (Ohio), Dean's List: Students who are ranked in the top 20% of undergraduate students within their division for a semester.

  • Connor Mathison, Big Rapids

Concordia University, Honors List: Students who earn a 3.90 GPA or higher while completing at least 12 undergraduate credit hours.

  • Calvin Rohde, of Reed City

Trine University, President's List: Students who complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.

  • Chantel Bretzinger, of Barryton

Saginaw Valley State University, President's List: Students who completed at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 grade point average.

  • Tyler Neuman, of Tustin
  • Kylie Sikkema, of Marion
  • Brenan Curtiss, of Blanchard

Saginaw Valley State University, Deans' List: Students who completed at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.

Alma College announces 2021 Degree Conferrals 

The Alma College Registrar's Office is pleased to announce the following students have completed the requirements for their respective degrees during 2021. Several students also earned graduation honors, awarded in three levels, recognizing outstanding academic achievement.

  • Sabrina Campbell, of Big Rapids, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies.
  • Wade Fullerton, of Tustin, received a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in English.
  • Lauryn Kranz, of Morley, received a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in education/language arts.
