Archie Richard Alexander

Archie Richard Alexander passed away Monday May 20, 2013, at Spectrum Health Skilled Nursing in Reed City. He was 85.

Mr. Alexander was born April 22, 1928, in Evart Township, Osceola County, to Archie Joseph and Harriet (Trollope) Alexander.

He had lived on the same land for 81 years.

Mr. Alexander was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Eurma Griffis in Evart on March 29, 1952 and she preceded him in death in November of 2011.

He farmed his entire working life and also worked at the Evart Milling Company, the Evart Co-op, and Leach Farm Equipment. Later in life, he enjoyed working in campgrounds. Archie attended the Evart Free Methodist Church and was a member of VFW Post 7979, Evart. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and

gardening.

He is survived by daughter Judy Alexander of Evart; two sons, Joseph (Bridget) Alexander of Sears, and Jack (Lori) Alexander of Evart; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren survive him.

His parents, wife Eurma, son Jeffery, and a brother, Zane preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Archie Richard Alexander are 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at the Evart Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Bullock officiating. Visitation will take place 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 22 at the church.

Internment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Evart.
