OSCEOLA COUNTY \u2014 Osceola County is participating in a state program that can provide up to $30,000 per homeowner to help with delinquent taxes or mortgages. Osceola County Treasurer Lori Leudeman recently announced the availability of the program called \u201cHelping Michigan\u2019s Hardest Hit.\u201d Michigan has received nearly $500 million in Emergency Economic Stabilization Act funds to operate the program and spread the aid among state citizens. The funds are available on a first come-first serve basis statewide. Osceola County has chosen to participate in the delinquent tax part of the program. Interested individuals may apply now with the state online at www.stepforwardmichigan.gov. Those without internet access may call the Northwest Community Action Agency at (231) 775-9781 for help with the application.\u00a0 A paper copy with a short description of the program is also available at the County Treasurer\u2019s office.
