EAST LANSING, Mich.-The latest research in forage-based livestock production practices will be showcased at the Michigan State University Lake City Research Center Field Day on Saturday, August 11. MSU research staff and MSU Extension educators will lead discussions and demonstrations on advantages of fall cover crop grazing, pasture irrigation for grass finishing beef steers, wintering costs for cows and stockers, cost of renovating pastures vs. grazing native pasture lands, alfalfa variety selection, grass finishing beef cattle genetics, and much more. There will be a $10 registration fee for the field day. Children under the age of 12 may attend for free.
