LEROY\u00a0- Canning has been used as a way to preserve food for years, and Sheri Spoelman from MSU Extension is offering her expertise to members of the community who wish to learn for the first time or discover new ideas. The class will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at LeRoy United Methodist Church, located at 402 W. Gilbert St.\u00a0The cost to participate is $10 per person. Spoelman will teach attendees the basics of canning and how to start. Highlights including pressure canning, water bath canning, demonstrations, recipes, safe canning procedures and other methods of preserving foods will be discussed.
