BIG RAPIDS - Hospice of Michigan will host "Living with Grief: Helping Adolescents Cope with Loss," a Hospice Foundation of America program, from 2 to 5 p.m. on April 10, at Hospice of Michigan in Big Rapids. The program focuses on the issues adolescents face as they cope with loss. The years from middle school to the beginning of adulthood are a significant developmental period where adolescents form identity, independence and intimacy. The program explores the ways that healthcare workers, hospices, educators, social workers, counselors, clergy, funeral directors and other professionals can assist adolescents as they cope with loss. Those attending the program will be given the opportunity to ask panel members questions related to adolescents and grief following the program. The event is free and open to the community. For more information, contact Tangela Zielinski, Hospice of Michigan grief support services manager at (231) 527-0913 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
