REED CITY \u00a0\u2014 A Hersey man charged with multiple criminal sexual conduct charges will go to trial in July if a plea agreement is not reached beforehand. Jermey David Burr, 38, was arrested in February by Michigan State Police. He was arraigned on eight counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Osceola County's 77th District Court. Burr waived his preliminary examination in Osceola County's 77th District Court, and the case was bound over to Osceola County's 49th Circuit Court on April 21. According to court documents, the female victim in the case was at least 13 but younger than 16 years old at the time of the alleged incidents. The sexual contact between Burr and the victim happened multiple times from September 2015 to January 2016 in Rose Lake Township, according to court documents. If Burr and the Osceola County Prosecutor's Office do not agree to a plea deal, the case will head to a four-day jury trial beginning on Tuesday, July 12, in circuit court, according to court documents. Burr remains lodged in the Osceola County Jail on a $2 million bond.
