EVART — Everything is falling into place.

As Wildcats fans return to Evart from near and far, the 2011 Homecoming is looking to be a memorable one.

While the football team are focused on the game ahead, friends from school, family members and neighbors are looking forward to a full week of activities.

There’s a ton of fun in store for kid throughout the school district and plenty to do for the community as well.

On Wednesday Sept. 21, from 6-8 p.m., parents and student from Evart Elementary will get into the Wildcat spirit of season with Wildcat Pride Night at Evart High School.

Planners note this will be an opportunity “ ... to explore our school district and what it has to offer your child as an Evart Public School Student.

“Athletic teams will be present to sign autographs on team banners and megaphones.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Wildcat Pride Night will include crafts throughout the evening. Wildcat Sports Boosters will be on hand giving away free water, cotton candy, and popcorn. A meal will follow the concession stand theme consisting of hot dogs, nachos, chips and milk.

Organizers promise there are many give-a-ways this year. Every child will take home a free book.

Those planning the event will also be collecting box tops and Campbell’s soup labels at this event as well — with information on hand showing how the collected moneys are spent throughout the year.

Beginning at 7 p.m., a Community Pep Rally will be held in the high school gym.

The homecoming court nominees will be on hand as will members of the varsity football team.

Sports Boosters will be out in force selling Wildcat gear, while members of the Class of 2011 will be hosting fund-raising raffles and much more.

Throughout the evening, there will be information to parents on the importance of extracurricular activities and how they impact a student’s life.

Then, the next day, the annual Homecoming tailgate party will kick off the 2011 festivities.

This year’s homecoming tailgate events will be Friday September 23 at the fair grounds in the Habitat Building immediately following the Homecoming parade at 4 p.m. which will wind its way through town and end at the fairgrounds.

The Sports Boosters party will feature at great meal for $5.

Alumni wearing varsity coats or sweaters eat free. Al alumni are encouraged to take part in a scavenger hunt. Wear your class ring, gear, and listen for your year to be called for a door prize. Alumni must be wearing memorabilia from their graduation year to win.

There will be music, a dunk tank, and lots more including collections of vintage football and cheerleading homecoming pictures from years past.
