Wildcats, Coyotes prep for graduation
OSCEOLA COUNTY — This coming weekend will be important day for folks living in the Osceola area community.
Graduation Day will be celebrated in a festive ceremonies at the both Evart and Reed City high schools. Family, neighbors, and friends are invited to mark the occasion and celebrate with the Class of 2011 as they close one important chapter in their lives and begin the next with anxious anticipation.
In Marion, members of the Class of 2011 took their walk and collected their diplomas on Friday, May 27. Over in Pine River, graduation ceremonies also have already been completed with graduates picking up their honors on Sunday, May 29.
In Evart and Reed City, the Big Day is still a few days off.
And Graduation Day is a big day.
Many years of study and work lead up to the moment when each individual graduate takes a stroll across the stage during commencement ceremonies, and receives his or her due — the diploma marking the successful completion of years of work in school.
Each graduate will also receive the applause of family, friends and neighbors who ‘escorted’ them through their school years - from kindergarten and through the final academic push in twelfth grade.
It is a significant occasion. One to be enjoyed not only by the graduates themselves, but to be celebrated by the community at large.
For each of the successful graduates, it’s been a long journey, but each also knows the journey has really just begun.
School district officials hope members of the community will join with family and friends in honoring the efforts of the graduating class. They hope this will not be the end of these students’ education while still realizing that whatever each of them chooses to do, this day will be a milestone in their lives - a step into adulthood.
The community needs to be celebrating this special day in the lives of each of these graduates. The community should be involved in the education of each and every young person, helping stress the importance of education.
Participation in Commencement Day ceremonies demonstrates support for students, their families and the school district.
Evart Public Schools officials are inviting everyone in the community to help the Class of 2011 celebrate their commencement ceremonies on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
But before that there is still at least one thing to do in what is obviously a busy time for graduates, their families, friends and neighbors.
Senior Honors Night will be held Thursday, June 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the in the high school gymnasium - a chance to really appreciate the hard work students have put into their academic careers tot his point.
And then ...
Graduation Day is set and ready to go Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m. in the high school gym.
Don’t miss out.
