Two charged in Marion gas station robbery
REED CITY — Two people have been charged in connection to the February armed robbery of a gas station in Marion.
Regina Barnett and Norman Bowman, both of Marion, were arraigned Monday in Osceola County’s 77th District Court.
Norman, 33, is charged with one count of armed robbery, a charge that is punishable by up to life in prison.
Barnett, 47, is charged with being an accessory to a felony after the fact, possession of a firearm by a felon and harboring felons.
Both suspects are scheduled for a pretrial conference on Thursday and will appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on April 12 for a preliminary examination.
The Marion Shell station was robbed on Feb. 19 by a man in a mask similar to that worn by fictional murderer Jason Voorhees in the movie “Friday the 13th,” with black tear drops drawn on the sides of the eye holes. The man produced a large, shiny knife, and demanded money and cigarettes. The store clerk gave the thief money from the cash register and safe, as well as 12 cartons of cigarettes.
