Two Evart boys taken into custody after stabbing
EVART – Two teens have been taken into custody after a fight in Evart that resulted in a 41-year-old man being stabbed in the head.
Mount Pleasant State Police reported to the scene of the fight at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday at Pine Street in the City of Evart. The 41-year-old Evart man who had been stabbed in the head was treated at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital before being transported to a hospital in Grand Rapids in stable condition. He suffered a stab wound that punctured his skull and caused a depressed skull fracture.
The on-scene investigation resulted in the recover of the knife allegedly used in the attack.
One 15-year-old Evart boy was arrested for minor in possession, disorderly conduct and conspiracy to commit homicide.
Another 15-year-old Evart boy was arrested for attempted homicide, felonious assault, minor in possession, resisting and obstructing a police officer and disorderly conduct. Both boys were taken to a secure juvenile facility.
Their names have not been released because they are juveniles and have not yet been arraigned.
The Mount Pleasant State Police Post was assisted in this investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the Evart Police Department, Osceola EMS and the Reed City Police Department.
No further information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
