Twin Oaks strives to support local businesses

EVART — Although it has undergone a few changes through the years, Twin Oaks Bowling Center and Lounge continues to offer fun for all ages as well as an atmosphere to sit back and relax with a friend or coworker for a drink or two.

The business, located just outside of Evart along U.S. 10, offers more than 10 lanes of bowling, a cozy lounge and bar area featuring multiple pool tables and a banquet hall for special events and gatherings.

Manager Valesha Dailey sat down with The Herald Review to talk about the center and how she is planning on making improvements while supporting Osceola County businesses.

THE HERALD REVIEW: Give a brief explanation about the business.

DAILEY: We have a great bowling alley and give great customer service. We also have a restaurant that we're revamping and we're going to have some higher cuts of meat.

How was the business established and when did you come to be a part of it?

DAILEY: I actually started here at the very beginning in 1996 as the head bartender. Then I worked here for a year. I got a call on Jan. 16 to come in and manage the business.

What sets Twin Oaks apart from other similar businesses in the area?

DAILEY: The fact that we are keeping things local. We get our beef from Elder's Beef and we're purchasing our bread products from Wright's Bakery. We're keeping everything community-based as much as we can so we can give back to the community.

How do you give back to the community?

DAILEY: I think just by keeping it local. Our banquet book features Patterson's Flowers and Evart Floral Boutique, cake decorators from Osceola County. We want to keep it as local as we can.

What is a trend you’ve been seeing with your company or customers?

DAILEY: Business is increasing on a daily basis. I'd say it's because we're giving fantastic customer service and we have an awesome crew here. It's a joint effort. We are a team.

What is the best part of being in the business you're in?

DAILEY: The atmosphere is fantastic and we offer really good bowling deals. What we hear the most from everybody is the place is great. I love getting to see the public and having a great staff to work with.
