Tustin Library holds fundraiser

TUSTIN — Community members are invited to support local literature at a fundraiser held on Dec. 1 at the Tustin Community Center.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., people can peruse tables of local handmade crafts and baked goods such as knitted items, crochetted items, quilting, jewlery, Christmas decorations, note cards and more as well as enter to win raffle items.

The fundraiser marks the first time the library has held a holiday bazaar. The idea was presented by the library’s weekly reading group as a way to generate support for the library.

“Our reading group meets every other Friday and they were brainstorming and came up with this idea of a holiday bazaar,” said Sandie Leach, library director. “This being our first attempt at fundraising, we’re not sure what the proceeds will be, but any amount that we make we’ll be very happy with.”

All proceeds will benefit the Tustin Community Library, and will possibly be used for adult and childrens books, supplies and operating expenses.

The library still is accepting any donated crafts to be sold at the event.
