REED CITY — The following cases were heard this week in Osceola County’s 49th Circuit Court. Not all cases are reported.
- Ronald Raymond Garrison, 34, of Lake, pleaded guilty to one count of resisting or obstructing a police officer and one count of malicious destruction of building - less than $200. The Osceola County Prosecutor’s Office recommended Garrison complete community service in lieu of jail time and agreed to dismiss two charges pending in Osceola County’s 77th District Court. Garrison is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 24.
- Ralph Edward Duff III, 35, of Newaygo, pleaded guilty to obtaining the controlled substance hydrocodone, a painkiller, by fraud. Per a plea agreement, the prosecutor will dismiss any habitual offender charges and recommended any jail time be suspended. Duff is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 10.
- William Robert Frieberg, 59, of Grand Rapids, pleaded guilty to a third drunken driving offense. He was convicted of other drunken driving offenses in 1983, 1989 and 2002. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with four days credit. Following his release, he will serve time on SCRAM monitoring while on probation for 18 months. He also must complete 60 days of community service.
