Terms decided for Reed City Council members

McKinney becomes mayor

REED CITY — Unchallenged Reed City Council members were re-elected on Nov. 5, with terms decided by the number of votes each received.

Incumbents David Bisbee received 400 votes, Bonnie Danzeisen received 370, Karen McKinney received 371 and Carol Tillotson received 359 votes. All four will continue leading the city.

Following a Nov. 10 organizational meeting, McKinney was appointed mayor while council member Roger Meinert was named mayor pro tem.

Because Bisbee and McKinney received the most votes, they will serve four-year terms. Danzeisen and Tillotson will serve two-year terms.
