EVART — Teens who want to learn how to cook or improve their skills have the opportunity to do so by attending a free Cooking Matters class offered by Michigan State University Extension.

The teen oriented, seven-week series will run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the Tuesdays including Jan. 21, Jan. 28, Feb. 4, Feb 11, Feb, 18, Feb 25 and March 4. Attendees must commit to all seven courses, which are taught by a chef and nutritionist.

Class topics include healthy snacks, shopping smart, planning balanced meals, food safety at home, tips for eating out and cooking tips. A free cookbook will be included in the course.
