St. Paul holds fundraiser
On Saturday, Nov. 5, St. Paul Lutheran Church at the corner of 5th and Cherry Streets in Evart will hold their annual bazaar from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Come spend a relaxing day and help others in our community at the same time.
A beautiful queen sized quilt made by the ladies of St. Paul will be raffled off and you need not be present at the time of the drawing to win.
Proceeds from the quilt raffle will be used to support the warm coat closet at St. Paul which provides assistance to many, not just in the form of coats, but a large range of clothing items.
There will be information at the bazaar and a person to talk to if you have any questions about this outreach program.
If you are in the mood to shop there will be ample opportunity starting with our unique, one of a kind gift baskets or visit our vendors. If you are shopping on a limited budget for the holidays you can’t go wrong.
Fresh baked cookies by the pound will be ready for you to mix and match to your taste. If you are busy during the holidays or just don’t bake that often many of these cookies lend themselves to being packaged up for your freezer so you are ready for those drop in guests.
Of course, cookies will not be the only sweet treats available. The bakery table will offer a variety of freshly baked items for you to enjoy.
After you finish shopping you can enjoy a great lunch for only $5.
For this small amount you can choose from a variety of homemade soups to have with a sandwich and then look over the dessert table to find your favorite then enjoy all of it with the beverage of your choice.
Don’t sit home alone at lunch time come and visit with friends and while you sit down and relax you can compare the bargains you found.
Proceeds from the gift baskets, baked goods and lunch room will help support our local “meals on wheels” program and Lutheran Social Services of Michigan. Both of these organizations help to buffer the effect of cutbacks in government assistance programs.
