Spedowski family receives new home

REED CITY — Just in time for the holiday season, Matthew and Dannielle Spedowski are proud owners of a new home provided by Osceola County Habitat for Humanity.

A dedication ceremony consisting of family members and Habitat supporters occurred at the home on Nov. 11 and the family received a set of keys to call their own. The Spedowskis will relocate to the residence soon with their two sons, Nate and Gavin.

“It feels good to have a home,” Matthew said. “I just want to move in.”

The home was built in 2011 for a different family, but plans with that family changed. The Spedowskis are able to move in, as Matthew will help complete mandatory hours of service on another Habitat house being built in Reed City.

“It’s a wonderful, wonderful thing that they have a home,” said Habitat for Humanity board member and selection committee chair Mary Lou Proefrock. “We worked together on this. They truly need a home and we’re happy to provide it.”
