The event will offer residents financial resources, low-cost banking products, financial counseling, homebuyer, rental education and other resources.

Free to the public, Show Me the Money Day is a statewide event coordinated by the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan. “This is a must-attend event for Osceola County residents,” said Al Weinberg, Evart DDA director. “This one program will connect people with the resources and programs that will help our residents better manage and maximize their incomes and tax returns in 2017. Whether you have questions pertaining to homeownership or rentals, tax preparation, FAFSA, banking needs, health care or energy assistance, this is for you.

“Not only is this event helpful, it is also fun. We will have free food for all, as well as a number of great door prizes and ways to win cash and prizes.”

Weinberg said Members First Credit Union, Chemical Bank, First Merit, Isabella State Bank, Ten16 Recovery Network, DTE, Consumers Energy, Michigan Works, Higher Ground and others are slated be at the special event.

There also will be demonstrations throughout the event on cooking and low-cost healthy meal planning, shopping budgeting and coupon use, truth about payday loans and the top five tips to land a job workshop.
