Several events set for March at Reed City Area District Library

REED CITY — The Reed City Area District Library has a variety of events planned for the month of March.

Story Hour is set for 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, and Wednesday, March 22. Story

Family movie afternoon is set for noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11. "The Big Friendly Giant," based off the Roald Dahl book, is rated PG and 117 minutes long.

Scrabble Hour is set for 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13, and Monday, March 27.

The Evening Book Club is discussing "A Hand Maid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16.

The Library Board is meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 27.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be shown for Teen Movie Night set for 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28. Popcorn is provided.

The library, located at 829 S. Chestnut St., is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The library is hosting a free family history research workshop, presented by the Osceola County Genealogy Society, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, in the community room. People seeking assistance in researching their family’s history are encouraged to bring their own laptop or device to search free internet websites.

The library will have a Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, March 20, through Friday, March 24.
