Semi causes downed power lines, outage in Evart
EVART — No one was injured during a brief accident in Evart at Pittsburgh Glass Works on June 17 which caused a small grass fire and city-wide power outage.
According to Evart Police Chief Kendra Backing, a semi driver accidentally made contact with a power line while dropping off garbage bins to the plant. The power line fell to the ground, causing a small grass fire, which was extinguished by employees before firefighters arrived at the scene.
Another power line near the plant also fell, causing a power outage throughout the city. Consumers was able to restore power in a timely manner, Backing added.
