Second annual Thanksgiving dinner at Marion Baptist Church
MARION — Everyone in Marion and surrounding communities is invited to the second annual Thanksgiving dinner at Marion Baptist Church.
Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes are on the menu for a traditional meal with all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, followed by a choice of tempting desserts, including pumpkin pie.
Come anytime between 12 noon and 3 p.m for a holiday meal and fellowship with friends and neighbors.
There is no charge, and advance registration is not required. The meal is offered as a gift to the community. Whether you’re single, a family or a group of friends, you are welcome.
Special services are available to shut-ins and those in need of transportation. Just call the church if you are a shut-in, and meals will be delivered to your door. Call the church also if you need transportation on Thanksgiving Day and a ride will be arranged.
“Our goal is to reach people who don’t have anything planned for Thanksgiving Day,” said Ron Lloyd from Marion Baptist Church, “and to especially invite those who might otherwise not have a chance to have Thanksgiving dinner, or who might have to be alone.”
Get a group together—Invite your family, friends and neighbors. It’s a great chance to see old friends and make new ones.
Marion Baptist Church is at 19909 40th Ave., Marion. For further information and to arrange meal delivery or transportation, call (231) 743-6725.
