EVART — Growing season has begun, and once again the Evart Community Garden is open for planting beginning Saturday, May 31.

Gardeners have the opportunity to grow herbs, vegetables and flowers in one of 24 raised beds through Sept. 31.

Each gardener is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of their garden box. Watering, weeding, harvesting and any other garden related maintenance are all the responsibility of the gardener. Plots are available on a first come, first serve basis, after filling out an application.

Four watering buckets will be available in the community garden storage bin for use during growing season and water can be obtained at Guyton Park. Each gardener will be given the combination to the lock on the storage bin.

For more information on the community garden or to download the garden application packet, visit evart.org or contact Al Weinberg at (231) 734-0185.
