REED CITY — The Osceola County Emergency Medical Services building in Reed City is undergoing construction for a proper ventilation system and roof.

"The roof at the Reed City EMS station was put on in approximately 1998," said Osceola County EMS Director Jeremy Beebe. "The shingles on the south side of the roof have been losing their integrity, curling and falling off for the last two to three years. I believe the cause of this problem is lack of proper roof ventilation."

The nearly $20,000 project was approved by county commissioners at the June 2 meeting. Contractors from Versatile Roofing Systems of Grant will do the replacements.
