Remembering the Fallen

Memorial: Hundreds of Reed City, Evart, and Osceola County area residents gathered in their respective communities marking Memorial Day 2016 to commemorate the lives of American military personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice in wars throughout the history of the United States. Wreaths was laid at the memorials to the fallen, taps were played by members of the local high school marching bands, and volleys were fired in honor of the men and women who gave their lives in the service of this country. On hand during Memorial Day ceremonies throughout the area were members of Evart and Reed City VFW and AMVETS posts, local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, representatives of civic groups, politicians representing the the Osceola community in Lansing, and hundreds of area residents who lined the sidewalks of the downtown business districts to observe the parade and join in the solemn ceremony.
