REED CITY — Reed City’s soccer program continued to show progress this season, led by two players who earned all-conference honors from the Central State Actvities Association this seasn.

Ethan Maddox and Seth Phelps earned all-league honors. Maddox was first team and Phelps honorable mention.

Maddox is a sophomore forward, who had 16 goals and four assists and was a two-year regular starter and varsity letterman.

“He was the leading scorer on our team in both his freshman and sophomore years,” Reed City coach Doug Emington said.

Phelps was a senior midfielder, who had five goals and two assists despite battling injuries. Phelps was a team captain and also earned all-district and all-academic honors.

Lorenz Hoernel, a senior forward, who had eight goals and two assists made individual all-academic honors with a 4.0 G.P.A. 2017. He also made the all-district team.

Hunter Morrison was a senior defender with one goal and three assists. He’s been a team captain and earned all-academic honors.

Hunter Diehl was a junior and tri-captain.

“He was a skilled versatile player who played every position,” Emington said.
