REED CITY – Little changed in the Reed City Area Public Schools Board of Education to mark the beginning of the 2011-12 school from the end of the 2010-11 year.

At a re-organization meeting on Monday, the board re-elected its officers to the same positions for the upcoming year. Dan Boyer will be president, Ed Raby will be vice president, Kathy Yost will continue as secretary and Scott Ridderman will act as secretary.

The board approved an amendment to the 2011-12 budget, adding the elimination of seven paraprofessionals and three teachers. The cuts had already been made and the reductions figured into the budget, so the board simply had to formalize the change at the meeting.

More amendments will be made at future meetings to reinstate busing in the transportation budget and calculate revenue from student enrollment once the school year starts.

The board will meet again at 7 p.m. on Aug. 15.
