Reed City robotics team to compete at state championship

FRUITPORT — Reed City Middle School's robotics team is headed to the state championship.

The team, the Cyber Coyotes, recently had the opportunity to compete at the First Inspires Qualifier in Fruitport.

In the end, the Cyber Coyotes were awarded the Design Award and qualified to compete in Michigan's First Tech Challenge State Championships in Battle Creek on Dec. 17-18.

The Design Award is the "Industrial Design at its Best" award. This judged-award recognizes design elements of the robot that are both functional and aesthetic. The Design Award is presented to teams that incorporate industrial design elements into their solution.

The robot should be durable, efficiently designed, and effectively address the game challenge.
