Reed City reports sewage overflow of private pump station
REED CITY — The City of Reed City reported a privately owned and operated sewage pump station overflowed less than 100 gallons of sewage in the morning hours on Monday, Oct. 17.
The overflow is being handled by a private septic cleaning company. Sewage cleaned up at the site of the overflow is being taken to the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
By law, the city is required to report wastewater treatment plant sewage overflows from its facility. The city reported Monday’s overflow because its wastewater treatment plant is handling the sewage from this private overflow.
The area affected by the spill is marked off with tape until it is completely cleaned up.
