Reed City preps for Fall Festival

REED CITY — There’s plenty to celebrate in Reed City, and looking around at the natural beauty and vibrant community, planners with the Reed City Chamber of Commerce have decided it’s high time to give voice to the festive feel of the community as autumn decorates the town with wild color and folks prepare for the winter season ahead.

The first Reed City Fall Festival and Chili Cook-off is set and ready to go. Organizers hope no one from the extended Reed City area community misses out on the fun and fellowship.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, everyone is invited to gather at The Depot for an afternoon of community orientated fun.

And come with festive spirits and festive dress.

It’s a beautiful time to live in Reed City — a great time to strut your community spirit.

At The Depot there will be a roaring bonfire to keep you warm, (and maybe some good ol’ community singing as well!)

There are hay rides planned in the best traditions of autumn fun in rural Michigan.

Also on the docket is plenty of music, lots of fun and games, and hotdogs for the hungry.

And, of course, one highlight of the event will be the chili cook-off with Reed City restaurants competing for bragging rights, and with all proceeds from the event going toward support of the Reed City signage program.

There’s a ton of fun in store for those attending.

Don’t say you didn’t know.
