REED CITY — A Reed City man charged with criminal sexual conduct is likely to spend 10 to 25 years in prison after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Mark Wayne Ireland, 45, was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct for incidents involving a victim younger than 13 years old.

Ireland agreed to plead no contest to an added count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct in exchange for the four initial charges to be dismissed. According to court documents, as part of the deal the Osceola County Prosecutor's Office agreed to a sentence between 10 and 25 years.

Ireland was arrested in April after a two-month long investigation, which was spurred by a report to a Reed City Area Public Schools liaison officer.

Sentencing for Ireland is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, in Osceola County's 49th Circuit Court.
