REED CITY — From giant inflatable slides to antics from Dynamite the Clown, community members had a lot to enjoy Saturday at the Reed City High School and Middle School Band Carnival.

“It’s going well. We have a big crowd,” said Reed City High School and Middle School Band Director John Szczerowski.

Saturday’s fun marked the 31st annual band carnival held by the school. The event typically is the largest fundraiser for the band throughout the school year.

“The Reed City bands have been doing this for a long time. In the past, we’ve raised more than $3,000,” Szczerowski said. “This year our cause is for new uniforms.”

Around 130 students participate in the Reed City high school and middle school bands. Middle school band students helped facilitate games and activities at the event while high school students set up and worked a haunted house.

Major sponsors of the event were Vic’s Supermarket and Shaker’s Deli in Reed City.
