GRANT — The Reed City Coyotes lost a 47-28 CSAA Gold girls basketball verdict to the Grant Tigers on Friday.

“We had a couple of kids out sick and injured again,” Reed City coach Brian Koopman said.

“Overall, I thought the kids played hard. I thought we are moving in the right direction. Offensively, I thought we looked a little better and found the open person. We had some nice looks and didn’t make them. Defensively we have to tighten up a little bit. They defensively out rebounded us. We have to do a better job of rebounding.

Taylor Harrison led the team with 13 points and Alison Duddles added six points.

“I have one kid out with mono, one out with a twisted ankle, one out with a broken leg and another kid waiting to be eligible “ Koopman said. “I have another kid having problems with her leg. Injuries are piling up.”’

Koopman said he usually dresses up to 10 players, depending on their status. He hasn’t been bringing anyone up from the JV.

“It’s been a matter of putting the same lineup out there and getting the kids used to each other,” Koopman said.

Reed City (2-10, 1-8) hosts Tri County on Friday.
