Reed City equestrian finishes ninth at state final

MIDLAND — The Reed City equestrian team finished in ninth place at the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association state final from Thursday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 16, in Midland.

The championship weekend was the culmination of a good season, said coach Amy Decker.

“We had a great weekend,” she said via e-mail. “The girls worked hard all season and have to be proud of all they accomplished this season.”

Decker said next year’s team will have members with a lot of experience.

“Ten of our 11 riders will be returning next year, so I believe we will be in contention for the state championship again next year,” she said.
