Reed City employee faces misdemeanor charge for falsifying time cards

REED CITY — A Reed City Department of Public Works employee waived her right to arraignment on Tuesday, but will face a misdemeanor embezzlement charge.

Connie Pohl is charged with one count of embezzlement between $200 and $1,000. She was arrested on Feb. 20 after an investigation revealed she had falsified time cards for her job with the Department of Public Works.

Michigan State Police are investigating the case, but have not released any additional details on the investigation.

Last week, Reed City Manager Ron Marek told the Pioneer that Pohl has lost her job and the city is seeking ways to improve the time reporting and approval process at the plant in the future.

Pohl is scheduled for a pretrial conference at 9 a.m. on March 15. She remains free on bond.
