Reed City daycare gets new name, owners
REED CITY — The name may be slightly different for one local daycare, but the new owners are intent on continuing to offer the same great care families are accustomed to.
Kiddie Kastle is now Kiddies Klubhouse after Amber Hutchinson and her mother, Bambi Olsson, purchased the daycare and took over on July 31.
“We wanted the name to be a little different, but still similar to what it was,” Hutchinson said. “We want people to know it’s under new ownership, but it’s still the same greatness it has always been.”
The mother-daughter duo both had always talked about running childcare centers and decided to collaborate to fulfill both of their dreams.
Hutchinson said Kiddies Klubhouse will maintain the same integrity held by previous owner, Kay Mack.
The new owners felt there were not many changes necessary when they took over because it was already a “good, solid daycare,” but some changes have been made.
The daycare has gone green and is using all natural cleaning products. There have also been some changes to learning activities, Hutchinson said.
Kiddies Klubhouse cares for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The daycare will also continue to run an afterschool program at GT Norman Elementary in Reed City for students in kindergarten to fifth grade.
Tutoring services are being offered and staff will work on homework with children if parents request.
The employees at Kiddies Klubhouse are fantastic and have such big hearts, Hutchinson said.
"We love the children and we have a great team of employees," she said. "We couldn't do it without the amazing staff."
For Hutchinson, choosing to own and run a daycare was an easy decision and she’s excited about the opportunity.
“My mom and I are both family oriented,” she said. “We love having the children around. Kids are so innocent and bring so much joy to our lives, so why not do something that makes us happy?"
