REED CITY — Two special Easter season activities are available and the public certainly is invited to become a part of either or maybe even both. Both events are planned for the Reed City United Methodist Church.

One is a puppet ministry, the other the upcoming Easter vigil involving Bible reading and prayer for the 24-hours preceding the Easter Sunday service.

Youngsters at least 12 years of age just might have a whole lot of fun by taking part in a new puppet ministry at the church. That group will be meeting every other Wednesday at 7 p.m. to practice working with the puppets for the next big performance.

The next practice will be March 20 at the church.

The Easter vigil will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 23 and continue until 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday. There are sign-up sheets at the church. Anyone who wishes to take part in the 24-hour long Bible reading and/or the prayer vigil that will extend over that same period, is asked to sign up in advance.

That will allow organizers to know what time slots still need to be filled as the date approaches.
