Reed City PTO color run raises more than $4,000
REED CITY — A run through Reed City concluded with a colorful celebration at Westerburg Park Saturday afternoon.
A cloud of pink, blue, red, green and yellow dye hovered when participants in the Coyote Color Run tossed their packets of color into the air after completing the race. Starting at GT Norman Elementary School, runners and walkers first went to Rambadt Park, followed the trail and ended up at Westerburg Park. The race was a 2-mile fun run/walk to raise money for the Reed City GT Norman Elementary PTO.
"The money raised goes to field trips, assemblies and other activities," said Denise Nelson, PTO president. "We raised approximately $4,200 this year."
This was the second year for the event. About 175 adults and children took part in the race, where they were doused with various colors at certain stations. At the end, there was a final color celebration.
