Reed City Library January events

REED CITY — The following events are scheduled for the month of January at the Reed City Public Library:

● At 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 2, the library will host a Day Book Club. Join other book lovers to discuss “Hot Flash Club” by Nancy Thayer;

● At 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 2,9,16, 23 and 30, the library will host Story Hour. Bring your toddler and join Mrs. D. for games, crafts, songs and more;

● At 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 10, join teens and pre-teens at the Teen Advisory Board meeting. Snacks are provided;

● At noon on Jan. 12, enjoy a family movie matinee showing of the Disney Pixar movie “Brave” and  free popcorn;

● From 3 to 4:30 p.m., adult word enthusiasts can enjoy Scrabble Hour;

● At 6 p.m. on Jan.17, the library will host the Evening Book Club, discussing “The Things they carried,” by Tom O’Brien;

● From 6 to 8 p.m. on Jan 24, the annual Jingle Bell Walk will be held in the hallways of Reed City High School. Individuals can be a sponsored walker, make a per-lap or one-time pledge for a sponsored walker or simply drop in the evening of the event to enjoy the walk;

● At 6 p.m. on Jan. 28, the library’s board meeting will be held at the library. The public is welcomed to attend;

● The library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
