Reed City Chamber prepares for Nov. 6 expo
REED CITY — Knowing what a community can offer is one of the best ways individuals can network with others and take advantage of local resources.
This year's annual Reed City Community and Business Expo will allow networking and more for attendees. The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Reed City High School cafeteria.
"The expo is a fun event," said Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Suzie Williams. "It's always so positive and it's a great opportunity to chat with everyone in one spot."
More than 30 new and returning vendors have registered to host a table this year, and Williams said she expects more to commit in the week to come. There is room for as many as needed, she added.
"I have a great lineup of new people, and they all want to be there to let people know who they are and what they do," Williams said. "For a new business or organization, this is a great way to say, 'Hey, I'm here, I'm new.'"
Another new addition to this year's expo is free vision screening for children ages 6 months to 5 years old hosted by the Crossroads Lions Club. Interested individuals can pick up Vision Screening Registrations at Farm Bureau Insurance, West Michigan Credit Union, Chemical Bank and the Reed City Area Chamber office.
Raffles, treats and door prizes also will be given away throughout the night of the event.
"I hope a lot of people attend this year," Williams added. "People should stop by right after work on their way home."
Businesses that wish to register for the event can do so until Friday, Oct. 31. For Chamber member businesses, the cost is $100, while the cost for chamber member nonprofits is $50. For non-chamber members, the cost is $200 and $100 for non-chamber member nonprofits. Setup is slated to begin at 4 p.m. the day of the expo. Electricity is available.
