REED CITY — Residents will be able to meet the new director of the Reed City Area District Library and learn about straw bale gardening at an open house later this month.

The library, located at 829 S. Chestnut St., will host an open house on from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, to give patrons an opportunity to meet Tom Burnosky, the new director.

By attending the open house, residents can enjoy some food while learning about the programs offered by the library.

Patrons also will be able to learn about straw bale gardening from local growing expert Carlleen Rose. The program focuses on how to use straw to help grow food.

The library is located at 829 S. Chestnut St. in Reed City.
