Red Kettle Campaign ends Tuesday

BIG RAPIDS — The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign is nearing its end, but is still about $12,000 short of its $75,000 goal.

The campaign, which provides about 25 percent of the Salvation Army’s annual budget, kicked off on Nov. 18. Donations will be accepted until 5 p.m. today at Walmart, Kmart and Walgreens in Big Rapids, Vic's Supermarket in Reed City and Fosters Supermarket in Evart.

Last year, the Red Kettle Campaign raised about $67,000. All of the money raised through the program stays in the Big Rapids area.

The final day of the campaign is important because it is a match day. Today, up to $300 from donations made at Vic's Supermarket in Reed City will be matched by Babb Ford.
