Ready for the funfest

Festivities start Thursday

EVART — Though the Dulcimer Funfest officially begins Thursday at the Osceola County 4-H/FFA Fairgrounds, some campers have been staked out for weeks. They’ve enjoyed jam sessions, cookouts and catching up with one another, all while waiting for the true chaos to begin when the actual event starts. As festivities kick off, hammered dulcimers, mountain dulcimers, guitars, banjos, recorders and the sound of many other instruments will continue to fill the little community that has grown each day as the festival inched closer. This year marks the 40th annual Original Dulcimer Players Club Funfest. There are more than 200 workshops at the event, and all workshops are included in the $5 entry fee. The fee is charged one time and covers the entire four day event.
