Rain fails to dampen trick-or-treating in Osceola County
OSCEOLA COUNTY — Despite the rain which poured over Osceola County on trick-or-treaters during Halloween evening, hundreds still took to the streets in costume to collect mountains of candy.
Using umbrellas, ponchos and rain boots to stay dry, children and their parents traveled throughout the neighborhoods and downtown areas of Reed City and Evart.
Evart featured its annual Monster Mash event, which allowed trick-or-treaters the opportunity to collect candy from about a dozen business owners, then rest and enjoy free food and beverages in the shelter of the Evart Fire Department building.
In Reed City, children splashed down the sidewalks going door to door and to the library, where temporary cover from the rain was welcomed by all.
