RCAPS welcomes new board members
REED CITY – After being elected in November and sworn in earlier this month to attend preliminary meetings, two new members of the Reed City Area Public Schools board of education were welcomed to their first regular meeting on Monday.
New members Ross Momany and Tricia Wirth took their places on their board; Jim Dawson also was re-elected for another term.
In recognition of January as School Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Steve Westhoff presented each board member with a certificate of thanks for their service.
“There is a great deal of time, effort and work (involved in sitting on a school board),” Westhoff said. “We certainly want to show our appreciation to all of you.”
Also at Monday’s meeting, the board approved the health education DVD, “Sex has a price tag,” be added to the curriculum.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Administration Building.
