RCAPS seeks Distinguished Alumni nominations

REED CITY — Each year, a panel of selectors dedicates itself to reviewing recommendations of some of Reed City’s most upstanding residents — past and present.

There is one exclusive criteria that all those nominated by family, friends and neighbors must have fulfilled. They must be a Reed City High School alum.

The review is a taxing one.

There are many who are worthy of being Reed City High School’s Alumni of the Year.

But there is only room for one honoree each year.

This year once again, a panel will meet to determine who will be named the 22nd RCHS Alumni of the Year.

Nominations for the honor are being accepted until Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2012.

If you have completed an application in previous years, that application is still on file and will be considered. Any updates, however, will be appreciated.

As noted, the only requirement by the applicant is that he/she is a Reed City High School graduate.

Applications may be picked up at the Reed City High School office, 225 W. Church Street. You may also obtain the application by visiting the Reed City Area Public Schools’ web site (Alumni Page). Applications should be returned to the high school office. Please attach a detailed résumé with the application for nomination.

The Distinguished Alumni selected for this award will be invited to speak at the 2012 Reed City High School Graduation commencement exercise at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1.
