RCAPS adds part-time parapros, office assistant

REED CITY — Members of the Reed City Area Public Schools Board of Education officially welcomed three new employees at a board meeting on Jan. 18.

Lisa Morrison and Kim Jenkins were hired as part-time paraprofessionals. Morrison will serve in special education, while Jenkins will serve as a 31-A parapro. In addition, Brittany Moss was hired as a part-time office assistant in the high school building.

The board also was recognized by RCAPS Superintendent Tim Webster for School Board Recognition Month. Each board member received a certificate of appreciation and thank you from Webster.

In more business, the board:

  • gave high school student Natalee Holtz a certificate of appreciation for her accomplishments as a published poet;
  • accepted new, revised and replacement NEOLA polices;
  • approved the 2016 senior class trip to Chicago scheduled for May 11; and
  • accepted the resignation for first-grade teacher Vicky Bowman. Lauren Vetter has been hired as the class' long-term substitute teacher.
